EAPD at the Latin American Summit onÌýCommunication + Creativity + Innovation + Marketing
Mariangela Parra-Lancourt, Senior Economic Affairs Officer in EAPD’s Development Research Branch, discussed theÌýkey findings of the upcoming flagship publication,ÌýWorld Economic and Social Survey 2018: Frontier Technologies for Sustainable DevelopmentÌýat +Cartagena,Ìýthe held in Cartagena, Colombia from 3-5 October 2018. Iván Duque Márquez, President of Colombia, opened the Summit with a presentation on the “Orange Economyâ€�, a vision for a Creative Economy.ÌýThe SummitÌýinvited professionals from different sectors belonging to theÌýOrange EconomyÌýandÌýÌýtechnology sectorsÌýof Latin America and the world. It includedÌýexperts, government representatives and the private sector toÌýdiscuss theÌýimportance of artificial intelligence, data and its challenges, as well as its analysis for sustainable growth and development. In this context, the discussions on the key findings and recommendations of theÌýSurveyÌýwere very well received. The Summit was convened by the Colombian Union of Advertising CompaniesÌýwith the support of the Government of Colombia and the participation of Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Women Colombia.
