蘑菇视频 Office of the Special Adviser on Africa (OSAA) has launched a network of African academics and experts who will contribute their vast knowledge and expertise of the continent’s unique context to Africa’s development. It is a platform for African experts to exchange views and influence policy.
To help build the capacity of policy makers from African Member States to design and implement policies that promote inter-linkages between peace, security, human rights, humanitarian affairs and development to accelerate sustainable development on the continent, OSAA held two virtual sub-regional workshops in June.
In efforts to reshape mindsets and change the narrative about Africa, daily throughout May, the Africa Dialogue Series showcased the continent’s rich and diverse cultural heritage. This year’s broad and inclusive activities celebrated the continent’s identity, culture, history and achievements.

A mainstay of African fashion, the Ankara, wax hollandais or Kitenge fabric holds up a mirror to history. “Riotously colorful, densely patterned, and unassailably fabulous,” the iconic fabrics have come to symbolize Africa’s contribution in fashion and design to the rest of the world.
The Africa Dialogue Series (ADS) 2021 takes place in May. Under the theme “Cultural identity and ownership: reshaping mindsets,” it will celebrate the continent’s identity, culture, history and achievements, through exhibitions and conversations with African academics and experts from various fields.
