Mogens Lykketoft, President of the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ General Assembly, met with the Russian Federation’s Minister of Communications and Mass Media, Mr. Nikolay Nikiforov. They discussed information technology, the President of the General Assembly’s High Level Meeting on the World Summit on the Information Society\u00a0(WSIS)\u00a0in December 2015 and the technological development agenda.<\/p>\n

“More and more people are getting\u00a0connected which is a big opportunity for development,” said Mr. Nikiforov adding that his government was very open to discussion in this area. He asked for help to keep Information Communications and Technology high on the political agenda.<\/p>\n

Mr Lykketoft welcomed Mr Nikiforov’s knowledge, enthusiasm and pragmatism and promised to be very present in this area.<\/p>\n
