Human Rights, Humanitarian Issues and 3rd<\/sup> Committee<\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n
\n

\"AmmarAmmar Aldurra is a senior adviser for human rights, humanitarian issues and migration and the Third Committee within the Office of the President of the 71st<\/sup> Session of the United Nations General Assembly.<\/p>\n

Ammar is a career diplomat who joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Iraq in 2004. Serving as a Congressional Officer, Protocol Officer and Political Officer at the Iraqi Embassy in Washington D.C. from 2007-2011, Ammar managed the U.S.-Iraqi political portfolio engaging in policy-planning analysis to government officials and delegations between the two countries. He has directed coordination with the U.S. State Department\u2019s Office of Protocol, Secret Service and Diplomatic Security Service for logistical and technical issues in regards to high-level state visits and delegations, and has performed numerous case-studies on legislations involving capacity-building projects within Iraq and lobbied the offices of the members of the House of Representatives on behalf of the elected government of Iraq.<\/p>\n

During his most recent posting to New York from 2014-2016, he was appointed as the Economic and Social Affairs expert as the Iraqi representative for ECOSOC as well as the representative for the Security Council, coordinating working-visits for expert teams from the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ\u2019s Counter-Terrorism Implementation Task Force to Baghdad and Erbil training law enforcement officials, and for the Counter-Terrorism Executive Directorate to meet with Iraqi counter-terrorism governmental agencies in Baghdad.<\/p>\n
