Senior Adviser<\/span><\/h2>\n

Sustainable Development Goals<\/span><\/h3>\n


\n\"Suljuk<\/a>Suljuk Mustansar Tarar is a Senior Advisor on the Implementation of Sustainable Development Goals. Specifically hw will focus on global health issues, gender equality, population, youth and children and inequalities. He is the focal point for SDG 3 on good health and well-being, SDG 4 on quality education, SDG 5 on gender equality and SDG 10 on reduced inequalities.<\/p>\n

Suljuk’s expertise includes peace and security, human rights, sustainable development and humanitarian issues. He has worked with Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵFPA since 2013 on political strategy, partnerships, advocacy, inter-agency coordination and contributing to Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ reports for ICPD beyond 2014 review and the Post 2015 process. He also helped in the planning and organization of regional population conferences, the Commission on Population and Development and the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵGA Special Session on ICPD beyond 2014, and integrating Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵFPA mandate in intergovernmental outcomes and processes including in implementation and follow-up of SDG’s and Financing for Development.<\/p>\n

Suljuk started working for Pakistan Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1998. Since then, he has served at the Jeddah Consulate and Permanent Mission to the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ, where he was responsible for Third Committee and, at various times, Second, First and Fifth Committee issues, as well as the Executive Boards and Security Council thematic issues.<\/p>\n

Suljuk was elected as Rapporteur of 2009 NGOs Committee and Chair of its January 2013 session; he was also Vice Chair of 2011 Commission on Population and Development; and Vice Chair\/Rapporteur of 67th Session of Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵGA Third Committee.
\nHe has spoken at Columbia University, IPI and Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵITAR events, and contributed to preparation of a Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵITAR documentary on multilateral negotiations.<\/p>\n

Suljuk has a bachelors in Architecture with honors from National College of Arts, Lahore and Masters in International Affairs from School of International and Public Affairs, Columbia University, New York focusing on Economic and Political development and humanitarian affairs.<\/p>\n

He speaks English, Punjabi and Urdu and has basic understanding of German and Arabic.<\/p>\n
