He is responsible for issues in relation to Sustainable Development Goals. Specifically he deals with\u00a0trade, science, technology, innovation and date. Zhang Yi&#8217;s focus is on SDG 17 on partnerships for the goals.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Before joining the Office of the President of the General Assembly, Yi worked for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China for 16 years, covering issues related to human rights, civil society, development, ASEM and Middle East. He also served for four years in the Permanent Mission of China to the United Nations Office at Geneva and Other International Organizations in Switzerland, majorly dealing with Human Rights Council. In his diplomatic career, Yi has participated in many important multilateral conferences and negotiations, particularly those of Second and Third Committee of General Assembly.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Yi speaks fluent Chinese and English, and has a Master Diploma of Public and International Law of Melbourne University.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Senior Adviser Sustainable Development Goals Zhang Yi is a Senior Advisor in the Office of the President of the 71st Session of the United Nations General Assembly.
