Communications and\u00a0Media<\/span><\/h3>\n

<\/p>\n

\"Naomi<\/a>Naomi Parekh is an Adviser on Communications and\u00a0Media in the office of the President of the 71st session of the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ General Assembly. Besides event planning and content production, her focus is on\u00a0SDG communications, specifically on SDG 4 on quality education and on SDG 6 clean water and sanitation.<\/p>\n

For four years, Naomi worked for the Sanitation and Water for All (SWA) Secretariat, hosted by the Water, Sanitation and Hygiene section of United Nation Children\u2019s Fund where she managed all protocol and logistics for SWA\u2019s High-level ministerial meetings, partnership meetings, and for events during the United Nations General Assembly and High-level Political Forum. Naomi also supported the SWA High-level Chair, Executive Chair and Steering Committee.<\/p>\n

Prior to working for the SWA Secretariat, Naomi was an intern at the Pan American Health Organization where she contributed to the technical reference document Human Security: Implications for Public Health. Naomi also worked at the Fulbright Association as Senior Director, Membership Development, where she advocated to members of the United States Congress for an increase in federal funding for international education and exchange programmes.<\/p>\n

She was a Fulbright fellow in Jamaica and holds a Master\u2019s degree in Sustainable Development and International Policy Management and a Bachelor\u2019s degree in Anthropology.<\/p>\n

Naomi has been an active volunteer for over 27 years raising funds to support abandoned children in areas of Latin America, the Caribbean and Africa.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
