Statement of the President of the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ General Assembly on the 5th<\/sup> informal straw poll of the Security Council<\/h2>\n

On behalf of the Security Council, H.E. Ambassador Churkin of Russia, informed me that the fifth informal straw poll of the Security Council for the position of Secretary-General took place earlier today.<\/p>\n

I thanked him for the information and advised that I was looking forward to learning the results of the next straw poll in early October with a view to progressing the appointment process in a smooth and credible manner.<\/p>\n
