{"id":105129,"date":"2017-08-02T16:44:10","date_gmt":"2017-08-02T20:44:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.un.org\/pga\/71\/?post_type=tribe_events&#038;p=105129"},"modified":"2017-09-01T18:00:26","modified_gmt":"2017-09-01T22:00:26","slug":"high-level-forum-on-the-culture-of-peace","status":"publish","type":"tribe_events","link":"https:\/\/www.un.org\/pga\/71\/event2\/high-level-forum-on-the-culture-of-peace\/","title":{"rendered":"High-level Forum on the Culture of Peace"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 style=\"text-align: justify\"><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">On 7 September 2017, the President of the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ General Assembly will convene a High-level Forum on the Culture of Peace.<\/p>\n<p>Following the wide-ranging success of the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ General Assembly\u2019s first High-level Forum on The Culture of Peace held on 14 September 2012 and each successive annual Forums, the Assembly, under the guidance of its President H.E. Mr. Peter Thomson and co-sponsored by 102 Member States, adopted by consensus the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.un.org\/en\/ga\/search\/view_doc.asp?symbol=A\/RES\/71\/252\">resolution 71\/252<\/a> on \u201cFollow-up to the Declaration and Programme of Action on a Culture of Peace\u201d.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">On 13 September 1999, the General Assembly adopted, by consensus and without reservation, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.un-documents.net\/a53r243a.htm\">resolution 53\/243<\/a> on the <strong>Declaration and Programme of Action on Culture of Peace<\/strong>. The opening session and plenary segment will be held in the General Assembly Hall from 10.00 am to 1.00 pm. The panel discussion will take place in the Trusteeship Council Chamber and will focus on <em>\u201cSowing the Seeds of the Culture of Peace: Early Childhood Development is the Beginning\u201d<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>A President\u2019s summary of the meeting will be all Member States.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"tab-content-wrapper tab-content-hide\">\n<div id=\"wc-shortcodes-tab-participation\" class=\"tab-content wc-shortcodes-content\">\n<h3>Participation<\/h3>\n<p>Member and Observer States are invited to participate at the highest possible level.
