MUST LEAD CHARGE IN FIGHT AGAINST CLIMATE CHANGE, PRESIDENT SAYS IN BONN<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>The President delivered <a href=\"http:\/\/www.un.org\/pga\/72\/2017\/11\/15\/23rd-session-of-the-conference-of-the-parties-to-the-un-framework-convention-on-climate-change\/\">remarks<\/a> to the 23rd Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵFCCC) in Bonn today.<\/li>\n<li>He said, \u201cClimate change is real. And it is dangerous.\u201d He added that it can be abated \u2013 but only through multilateral agreement, and multilateral action.<\/li>\n<li>The President noted that, during the General Assembly\u2019s General Debate this year, 84% of Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Member States highlighted the fight against climate change as a priority. That was the highest number of references to climate change on record for a General Debate.<\/li>\n<li>The President said, \u201cThe people who are suffering most from climate change are not in this hall. But that does not mean we are not accountable to them. We must meet the agreed goal of mobilizing USD 100 billion per year by 2020 to support climate action in developing countries.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Adding that we need bold, and innovative partnerships, he stressed that \u201cthe United Nations must be the master coordinator.
