It is not a trend. It is not a phase. And it is not going to disappear, over time. The only question is how to respond.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>He added, \u201cBefore, we tried to do it alone. But now we have decided to do it together. We have said, firmly, that a global phenomenon needs a global response.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>He also noted, \u201cThis will require a balancing act. We need to cater to the needs and rights of migrants. And, at the same time, the needs and rights of states and communities.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong>PRESIDENT URGES COMMISSION TO CONTINUE DEVELOPING INTERNATIONAL LAW<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>The President <a href=\"\/pga\/72?p=155309\">spoke today at a commemorative meeting<\/a> to mark the 70th anniversary of the International Law Commission.<\/li>\n<li>He encouraged the Commission to forge ahead with developing international law. In doing so, the Commission was helping to reinforce multilateralism, he said.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong>TEXTS CIRCULATED TO MEMBER STATES ON DEVELOPMENT, REVITALIZATION, SECURITY COÄ¢¹½ÊÓƵCIL REFORM<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.un.org\/pga\/72\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/51\/2018\/05\/Adoption-of-Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵDS-repositioning-resolution.pdf\">final draft of the resolution<\/a> on the repositioning of the United Nations development system has been officially circulated to Member States.<\/li>\n<li>The General Assembly\u2019s plenary meeting to consider this draft will be held on Thursday, 31 May.<\/li>\n<li>Meanwhile, the Co-Chairs of the Ad Hoc Working Group on the Revitalization of the Work of the General Assembly have shared the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.un.org\/pga\/72\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/51\/2018\/05\/Cover-letter-AHWG-zero-draft.pdf\">zero draft of the next annual resolution<\/a> on this topic.<\/li>\n<li>This draft will be presented this Friday morning. Member States will be welcome to share views on the text at that time.<\/li>\n<li>The draft contains proposals to further improve the work of the General Assembly \u2013 including on elections conduct.<\/li>\n<li>Also available now is a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.un.org\/pga\/72\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/51\/2018\/05\/20180521094038.pdf\">document related to Security Council reform<\/a>.
