AGENDA WITH ROMANIAN OFFICIALS<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>The President held a number of <a href=\"\/pga\/72?p=162475\">official meetings today in Bucharest, Romania<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>He discussed multilateralism, the Sustainable Development Goals, migration and Romania\u2019s active engagement at the United Nations with Romania\u2019s President.<\/li>\n<li>He also met with the Prime Minister of Romania. They spoke about the universality of the Sustainable Development Goals and Romania\u2018s participation in this year\u2018s High-level Political Forum, which will take place next month here in New York.<\/li>\n<li>And in a meeting with Romania\u2019s Foreign Minister, the topics of discussion were upcoming items on the General Assembly\u2019s agenda, climate change, and the status of the negotiations on the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration.<\/li>\n<li>The President also received an honorary doctorate degree from the National University of Political Studies and Public Administration of Romania.<\/li>\n<li>In <a href=\"\/pga\/72?p=162448\">his remarks<\/a> there, he said, \u201cOur history books are very clear. They show that the greatest achievements of humanity have come from working together.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong>PRESIDENT CONVENED 10<sup>TH<\/sup> EMERGENCY SPECIAL SESSION AT MEMBER STATES\u2019 REQUEST<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Asked whether the President had discussed the recently resumed <a href=\"http:\/\/www.un.org\/en\/ga\/sessions\/emergency10th.shtml\">tenth emergency special session<\/a> with the Secretary-General, the Spokesperson noted that the President held monthly luncheons with the Secretary-General to discuss a wide range of topics. Readouts were not typically provided for those private meetings.<\/li>\n<li>Regarding the tenth emergency special session, its resumption had been a matter for Member States. Certain Member States had communicated to the President their wish to see the session resumed, so the President had taken that action at their request.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong>MEMBER STATES ENGAGING \u201cCONSTRUCTIVELY &amp; ACTIVELY\u201d ON G.S.D.M.
