So this is not a phenomenon we must accept.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div align=\"center\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri,sans-serif;font-size: small\"><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/div>\n<h3 U.N.<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Calibri,sans-serif;font-size: small\"><span lang=\"sk\">The President just addressed an event related to the International Gender Champions\u2019 annual report.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Calibri,sans-serif;font-size: small\"><span lang=\"sk\">The President said women\u2019s empowerment and gender equality are a big part of United Nations\u2019 work on the ground.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Calibri,sans-serif;font-size: small\"><span lang=\"sk\">But we must begin at home \u2013 because without equal opportunities for women within the United Nations system, we cannot achieve our collective goals.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Calibri,sans-serif;font-size: small\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<h3 align=\"center\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri,sans-serif;font-size: small\"><span style=\"font-size: large\"><b>PRESIDENT MEETS WITH CHINESE OFFICIALS IN BEIJING<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Calibri,sans-serif;font-size: small\"><span lang=\"sk\">The President\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"\/pga\/72?p=163221\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span lang=\"sk\">visited China from 1 to 3 July<\/span><\/a><span lang=\"sk\">.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Calibri,sans-serif;font-size: small\"><span lang=\"sk\">He met with Chinese officials, including the Vice President, the Director of the Foreign Affairs Commission Office of the Communist Party of China\u2019s Central Committee, the Foreign Minister, and the Deputy Chairman of the National Supervisory Commission.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Calibri,sans-serif;font-size: small\"><span lang=\"sk\">The topics discussed included China\u2019s role at the United Nations, the\u00a0Sustainable Development Goals, the Global Compact on Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration, and conflict\u00a0prevention\u00a0and sustaining peace.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Calibri,sans-serif;font-size: small\"><span lang=\"sk\">The President also met with the United Nations Country Team.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Calibri,sans-serif;font-size: small\"><span lang=\"sk\">After landing back in New York late at night on Tuesday, the President came straight to Headquarters at around 1:00 in the morning, to meet with the Fifth Committee Chair and congratulate Fifth Committee delegates, who had just reached agreement on management reform.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Calibri,sans-serif;font-size: small\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri,sans-serif;font-size: small\"><span style=\"font-size: large\"><b>BUDGET COMMITTEE TO WRAP UP SESSION TODAY<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Calibri,sans-serif;font-size: small\"><span lang=\"sk\">This afternoon at 3:00, the General Assembly\u2019s Fifth Committee, which handles administrative and budgetary matters, will formally take action on all outstanding issues, including United Nations peacekeeping budgets and the Secretary-General\u2019s management reform and peace and security architecture reform proposals.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Calibri,sans-serif;font-size: small\"><span lang=\"sk\">It will then close the second part of its resumed session.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Calibri,sans-serif;font-size: small\"><span lang=\"sk\">Following that, the General Assembly plenary will meet to consider the report of the Fifth Committee.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Calibri,sans-serif;font-size: small\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<h3 align=\"center\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri,sans-serif;font-size: small\"><span style=\"font-size: large\"><b>HUMAN RIGHTS COÄ¢¹½ÊÓƵCIL ELECTION TO BE HELD NEXT WEEK<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Calibri,sans-serif;font-size: small\"><span lang=\"sk\">On the Human Rights Council, the General Assembly plenary will hold a\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.un.org\/pga\/72\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/51\/2018\/07\/PGA-Letter-HRC-by-elections.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span lang=\"sk\">by-election to fill the current vacancy<\/span><\/a><span lang=\"sk\">\u00a0from the Western European and Other States Group.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Calibri,sans-serif;font-size: small\"><span lang=\"sk\">The term would start on the date of the election and expire on 31 December 2019.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Calibri,sans-serif;font-size:
