Mr. Miroslav Laj\u010d\u00e1k, met today with H.E. Mr. Tommy Esang Remengesau Jr., President of the Republic of Palau<strong>. <\/strong>They discussed issues related to the work of the 72<sup>nd<\/sup> session of the General Assembly, sustainable development, and health. The President of the General Assembly thanked Palau for its strong commitments to multilateralism and said that all goals related to the priorities set for the 72<sup>nd<\/sup> session had been achieved: the agreed text of the Global Compact for Migration, the three Sustainable Development Goals \u00a0events, United Nations reforms, and raising the visibility of conflict prevention and sustaining peace. On sustainable development, he commended Palau for engaging actively on issues related to the Pacific Small Island Developing States (PSIDS), such as climate change, oceans, and partnerships. On health, he acknowledged Palau\u2019s commitment to prevent and control non-communicable diseases.
