Mr. Miroslav Laj\u010d\u00e1k,\u00a0gave a lecture on \u201cMigration as part of the Sustainable Development Agenda\u201din the Principality of Liechtenstein today.<\/strong><\/div>\n<p class=\"x_x_MsoNormal\">In his remarks, he noted that \u201cmigration is a reality. People have always moved.\u201d At the same time, he said he did not want to suggest that all was \u201crosy and well\u201d. Noting that migration presents challenges, he called for cooperation, adding, \u201cThis is exactly why the United Nations General Assembly was created\u2026 We must use it to work together for the good of all people.\u201d He concluded by calling on \u201ceveryone to move forward to make a real difference in people\u2019s lives \u2013 for newcomers to our countries, for our people who are newcomers elsewhere, and for the societies that welcome them.<span lang=\"ZH-CN\">\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_x_MsoNormal\">During his visit, President Laj\u010d\u00e1k also met with a number of officials of the Principality of Liechtenstein.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_x_MsoNormal\">With H.S.H. Hereditary Prince Alois von Liechtenstein, he agreed on the urgent need to strengthen multilateralism. The two also discussed current global political challenges.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_x_MsoNormal\">The President and H.E. Ms. Aurelia Frick, Minister for Foreign Affairs, Justice and Culture, discussed pressing issues on the agenda of the United Nations General Assembly, as well as the importance and role of active small States, such as Liechtenstein, at the United Nations.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_x_MsoNormal\">President Laj\u010d\u00e1k stressed the important role of parliamentarians in politics and international organisations during a meeting with H.E. Mr. Albert Frick, President of the Parliament. He also commended him on Liechtenstein\u2019s active role at the United Nations, in particular its leadership on the rule of law, its promotion of the International Criminal Court and its engagement on Security Council reform.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_x_MsoNormal\">While in Vaduz, the President attended a breakfast meeting with civil society representatives hosted by H.E. Mr. Martin Frick, Director of the Office for Foreign Affairs, on the role of philanthropy and civil society at the United Nations.
