At the event, \u201cGlobal Leaders Investment Summit\u201d, Ms. Espinosa stressed the importance of cooperation in order to find common, multilateral solutions to global challenges.<\/p>\n<p>The overall theme this year is: Investing in Sustainable Development.<\/p>\n<p>The PGA emphasized the important role of the private sector in delivering Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development; the need to empower women and youth, which is key to economic development and ensuring peace and security; and the importance of investments in areas that advance environmental protection and climate action. The President told world leaders that: \u201cwe have a moral obligation to protect and advance the rights of billions of people around the world. As it is, approximately 10 per cent of the world\u2019s population continue to live on less than one dollar and ninety cents ($1.90) per day.\u201d For her: this is simply unacceptable. Ms. Espinosa stressed that it will take 5 to 7 trillion US Dollars per year, and 600 million new jobs would be created by 2030, to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PGA\u2019s AGENDA<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On the PGA\u2019s agenda for today: Ms. Espinosa attended the Ceremony on the Investment Promotion Awards, which took place at the Palais des Nations.
