Ms Maria Fernanda Espinosa Garces, met with the President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, H.E. Ms Gabriela Cuevas Barron, on the margins of the 2019\u00a0Annual Parliamentary Hearing at the United Nations, \u201cEmerging challenges to multilateralism: A parliamentary response\u201d.\u00a0They exchanged views on the need to engage parliaments in the debate on how to strengthen a rules-based multilateral system, which is the focus of this year\u2019s Hearing.
