PGA TO ADDRESS ARGENTINE COÄ¢¹½ÊÓƵCIL FOR INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n
The President of the General Assembly is in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where she is attending the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Conference on South-South Cooperation.<\/p>\n
Ms. Espinosa\u00a0began\u00a0her day by granting interviews to national and international media outlets. She will hold bilateral meetings with the Minister of Trade and Investment of Cuba, H.E. Rodrigo Malmierca D\u00edaz, and the Palestinian Foreign Minister, H.E. Riyad Al-Maliki.<\/p>\n
Later today, the PGA will address the Argentine Council for International Relations and have a Q&A session with the participants on the role of multilateralism at the United Nations.<\/p>\n

MS. <\/strong>ESPINOSA CELEBRATES INTERNATIONAL DAYS, GA TO HOLD PLENARY MEETINGS<\/strong><\/p>\n
Earlier today, the PGA issued a tweet marking World Poetry Day. A poet herself, Ms. Espinosa said that: \u2018the word is the ultimate expression of emotion, creativity and ability of human beings to communicate ideas.\u2019 She takes this opportunity to honour poetry together with all poets\u00a0around the\u00a0world.<\/p>\n
And as you know, today is also the International Day of Forests, World Down Syndrome Day, International Nowruz Day, and International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. In her Twitter account, Ms. Espinosa noted that the \u2018beauty of the General Assembly is that we have people from every corner of this planet working side-by-side.\u2019 And that the GA is the symbol of multilateralism and celebrates diversity and tolerance. And on that, the General Assembly will hold a meeting on 25 March, next Monday, to mark the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.<\/p>\n
And finally, for your diaries: also, on 25 March, the GA will hold a plenary meeting at 3:00\u00a0pm to mark the International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Slavery and the Transatlantic Slave Trade.<\/p>\n
