We will start with a travel announcement.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

PRESIDENT ESPINOSA WILL TRAVEL TO PORTUGAL TO TAKE PART IN YOUTH FORUM<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The President of the General Assembly will travel to Portugal for an official visit starting on 21 June.<\/p>\n

Ms. Mar\u00eda Fernanda Espinosa has been invited by the Government of Portugal to take part in the \u201cWorld Conference of Ministers Responsible for Youth 2019 and Youth Forum \u2013 Lisboa + 21\u201d. This event will take place in Lisbon from 21 to 23 June.<\/p>\n

The PGA will speak at the opening ceremony to highlight one of her seven priorities; \u201cYouth, Peace and Security\u201d and the overall theme of her Presidency: \u00a0\u201cMaking the United Nations relevant to all people: global leadership and shared responsibilities for peaceful, equitable and sustainable societies\u201d,<\/p>\n

Ms. Espinosa will hold bilateral meetings with Portuguese authorities and youth leaders on themes such as\u00a0the\u00a0strengthening of multilateralism, refugees, climate action and ocean issues, including her global campaign against plastic pollution.<\/p>\n

We will bring more details of\u00a0the PGA\u2019s agenda in Portugal\u00a0in\u00a0the coming days.<\/p>\n

Ms. Espinosa\u2019s travel to Lisbon comes after the conclusion of her trip to China on 20 June.<\/p>\n

Earlier today, Ms. Espinosa visited Chinese companies which are investing in clean energy to reduce CO2 emissions as part of the country\u2019s efforts to tackle climate change.<\/p>\n

PGA TO HOLD PRESS CONFERENCE ON 27 JÄ¢¹½ÊÓƵE at 11 AM. IN CONFERENCE PRESS BRIEFING<\/strong><\/p>\n

Next Thursday, 27 June, the PGA will hold a Press Conference here at 11 am.<\/p>\n
