Sr. Tijjani Muhammad Bande, Presidente del septuag\u00e9simo cuarto per\u00edodo de sesiones de la Asamblea General de las Naciones Unidas<\/h3>\n<p><strong><span class=\"updated\">24 de abril de 2020\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Honorable Kevin Rudd,<\/p>\n<p>Distinguidas se\u00f1oras y distinguidos se\u00f1ores:<\/p>\n<p>Doy las gracias al International Peace Institute (IPI) por organizar este importante di\u00e1logo, especialmente en un momento en el que el mundo se enfrenta a la amenaza sin precedentes que supone la pandemia de enfermedad por coronavirus (COVID-19), en r\u00e1pida evoluci\u00f3n. Quisiera transmitir mi m\u00e1s sentido p\u00e9same a quienes hayan perdido a seres queridos, y deseo una r\u00e1pida recuperaci\u00f3n a los que sufren la enfermedad. Transmito mi agradecimiento a los trabajadores sanitarios y a los que est\u00e1n en la primera l\u00ednea de lucha contra esta enfermedad, manteniendo as\u00ed nuestras comunidades sanas y salvas.<\/p>\n<p>Encomio a los Estados Miembros, a la Organizaci\u00f3n Mundial de la Salud (OMS), a las organizaciones de la sociedad civil y al sector privado por proporcionar apoyo y servicios vitales en la lucha para derrotar la pandemia. Ante los crecientes desaf\u00edos, recordemos el car\u00e1cter indispensable de las Naciones Unidas, que desde el principio de este desaf\u00edo mundial han coordinado la respuesta global. Debemos, por lo tanto, seguir apoyando a la OMS para superar este desaf\u00edo y prevenir futuras pandemias.<\/p>\n<p>Al conmemorar el segundo D\u00eda Internacional del Multilateralismo y la Diplomacia para la Paz, debemos mantenernos fieles a los ideales fundacionales de nuestra Organizaci\u00f3n y, en el marco de la Carta de las Naciones Unidas, seguir trabajando en pro de la paz y la seguridad internacionales, el estado de derecho, la justicia y el desarrollo sostenible, en particular en los momentos m\u00e1s dif\u00edciles.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row][et_pb_column type=\u00bb1_2&#8243;][et_pb_text _builder_version=\u00bb4.3.2&#8243; Por desgracia, en medio de la crisis actual, hay demasiados pa\u00edses que viven violentos conflictos armados prolongados. El Fondo Monetario Internacional ya ha pronosticado una recesi\u00f3n mundial. La Organizaci\u00f3n Internacional del Trabajo calcula que los trabajadores perder\u00e1n hasta 3,4 billones de d\u00f3lares en ingresos para finales de 2020. Los sistemas de salud mundiales est\u00e1n sometidos a una enorme presi\u00f3n y los desplazamientos internacionales se han visto gravemente afectados. Los Estados, las empresas y las familias ya est\u00e1n sufriendo p\u00e9rdidas que solo podr\u00edan imaginarse en un estado de guerra. Los pa\u00edses en desarrollo ser\u00e1n los m\u00e1s afectados por la actual crisis sanitaria y econ\u00f3mica.\n<\/p>\n<p>Por otro lado, esta crisis llega cuando nos embarcamos en el decenio de acci\u00f3n y resultados en favor del desarrollo sostenible para aplicar los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS). Nos arriesgamos a perder los logros que hemos alcanzado en su consecuci\u00f3n.\n<\/p>\n<p>Ahora m\u00e1s que nunca debemos mantenernos firmes en el logro de los ODS cumpliendo los compromisos contra\u00eddos en el marco de la Agenda de Acci\u00f3n de Addis Abeba de la Tercera Conferencia Internacional sobre la Financiaci\u00f3n para el Desarrollo para generar y evitar que se agudicen las desigualdades.\n<\/p>\n<p>Debemos proteger a los m\u00e1s vulnerables, los que a menudo est\u00e1n marginados, los ni\u00f1os, las personas de edad y las personas con discapacidad y, en particular, las mujeres, que se ven afectadas de manera desproporcionada.\n<\/p>\n<p>Debemos impulsar la acci\u00f3n multilateral ahora para construir sistemas de salud resilientes, proteger los logros alcanzados en la erradicaci\u00f3n de la pobreza y el hambre cero, y asegurarnos de que cumplimos nuestro compromiso de no dejar a nadie atr\u00e1s.\n<\/p>\n<p>Tambi\u00e9n debemos poner en pr\u00e1ctica una respuesta estructurada para mitigar la disrupci\u00f3n de la educaci\u00f3n, ya que 188 pa\u00edses han ordenado el cierre de escuelas, lo que afecta a m\u00e1s de 1.500 millones de j\u00f3venes y ni\u00f1os;
