Sr. Adonai Ayebare, Asesor Especial del Presidente de la Asamblea General sobre la Cooperaci\u00f3n Sur-Sur,<\/p>\n<p>Excelencias,<\/p>\n<p>Distinguidas delegaciones:<\/p>\n<p>Es para m\u00ed un gran placer darles la bienvenida a todos a este di\u00e1logo interactivo sobre \u201cLa lucha contra el hambre: la cooperaci\u00f3n Sur-Sur y la cooperaci\u00f3n triangular para transformar la agricultura\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Doy las gracias por el apoyo prestado para convocar este importante di\u00e1logo a los Estados Miembros y al sistema de las Naciones Unidas, en particular a la Organizaci\u00f3n de las Naciones Unidas para la Agricultura y la Alimentaci\u00f3n y a la Oficina de las Naciones Unidas para la Cooperaci\u00f3n Sur-Sur.<\/p>\n<p>El di\u00e1logo interactivo de hoy nos brinda la oportunidad de reflexionar sobre los logros alcanzados en el Objetivo de Desarrollo Sostenible 2: Hambre cero, y de definir los mejores caminos para lograr un mundo sin hambre para el a\u00f1o 2030. El acceso a una alimentaci\u00f3n adecuada es un derecho fundamental de todo hombre, mujer y ni\u00f1o. Sin embargo, por cuarto a\u00f1o consecutivo, el hambre est\u00e1 aumentando.<\/p>\n<p>Debemos redoblar nuestros esfuerzos y crear pol\u00edticas y condiciones que no solo alivien el sufrimiento de 820 millones de personas que padecen hambre hoy, sino que tambi\u00e9n eliminen el hambre en nuestro mundo m\u00e1s all\u00e1 de 2030.<\/p>\n<p>La Agenda 2030 para el Desarrollo Sostenible reconoce que el Objetivo 1 (Fin de la pobreza) y el Objetivo 2 (Hambre cero) deben tratarse al mismo tiempo.<\/p>\n<p>Las pol\u00edticas agr\u00edcolas son pol\u00edticas de desarrollo y se centran en la mitigaci\u00f3n del hambre de manera sostenible, la creaci\u00f3n de empleos, la generaci\u00f3n de ingresos y la contribuci\u00f3n a la erradicaci\u00f3n de la pobreza.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row column_structure=\u00bb1_2,1_2&#8243; horizontal_offset_tablet=\u00bb0&#8243; z_index_tablet=\u00bb0&#8243;]<\/p>\n<p>Excelencias,<\/p>\n<p>Distinguidas delegaciones:<\/p>\n<p>Para tener \u00e9xito, esas pol\u00edticas deben resolver las desigualdades hist\u00f3ricas y estructurales que socavan los esfuerzos que hacemos para acabar con el hambre.<\/p>\n<p>Deben tener debidamente en cuenta a los peque\u00f1os agricultores y a los agricultores familiares, que producen casi el 70 % de los alimentos del mundo. Estos 500 millones de productores de alimentos suelen estar atrapados en la pobreza e incluso son vulnerables al hambre y la malnutrici\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>Tambi\u00e9n debemos poner en contacto a los peque\u00f1os agricultores con los compradores, los proveedores de tecnolog\u00eda y las instituciones financieras. Sencillamente no podemos avanzar en la erradicaci\u00f3n del hambre o la pobreza si dejamos atr\u00e1s a los peque\u00f1os agricultores.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=\u00bb1_2&#8243; Ning\u00fan Objetivo de Desarrollo Sostenible va por libre, est\u00e1n todos interconectados.<\/p>\n<p>Es alentador que se haya adoptado el \u201cenfoque de los sistemas alimentarios\u201d en el marco de la pol\u00edtica internacional para la agricultura sostenible. Este cambio de paradigma abarca todas las actividades que ayudan a llevar los alimentos \u201cdel campo a la mesa\u201d. Creo que este enfoque aumentar\u00e1 la seguridad alimentaria y catalizar\u00e1 la prosperidad econ\u00f3mica de los peque\u00f1os agricultores y las comunidades rurales.<\/p>\n<p>Al mismo tiempo, tambi\u00e9n deber\u00eda tratar la cuesti\u00f3n del desperdicio de alimentos. En los pa\u00edses en desarrollo, una cuarta parte de los productos agr\u00edcolas no llega a los consumidores debido a pr\u00e1cticas deficientes a la hora de cosechar y a la carencia de instalaciones de almacenamiento y refrigeraci\u00f3n. A nivel mundial, alrededor de un tercio de los alimentos producidos se desperdician.<\/p>\n<p>Se necesita urgentemente una inversi\u00f3n espec\u00edfica en soluciones para que nuestros sistemas alimentarios funcionen tanto para los productores como para los consumidores. Tambi\u00e9n es fundamental utilizar el marco de los sistemas alimentarios como veh\u00edculo para la erradicaci\u00f3n de la pobreza y el crecimiento inclusivo de manera m\u00e1s amplia. Debemos asegurarnos de que nuestros sistemas alimentarios respeten los derechos, y sean resistentes al clima y sostenibles.<\/p>\n<p>Excelencias:<\/p>\n<p>Todos tenemos algo que aprender y algo que ense\u00f1ar. Facilitar esto orientar\u00e1 las acciones transformadoras que son necesarias para terminar con el hambre.<\/p>\n<p>La cooperaci\u00f3n Sur-Sur y la cooperaci\u00f3n triangular deber\u00edan aprovecharse para intercambiar experiencias mediante el di\u00e1logo sobre pol\u00edticas, las visitas in situ, el intercambio en l\u00ednea y la cooperaci\u00f3n t\u00e9cnica.<\/p>\n<p>Es preciso adoptar medidas a todos los niveles e involucrar a todas las partes interesadas para lograr el Objetivo 2. Debemos difundir los conocimientos y ampliar las soluciones locales que a menudo desarrollan las comunidades agr\u00edcolas de todo el mundo.
