Tijjani Muhammad-Bande will travel to Baku, Azerbaijan on Tuesday 22 October 2019, to participate in the Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Non-aligned Movement (NAM).<\/p>\n<p>The President is expected to highlight the importance of multilateralism and the necessity of international cooperation to address critical challenges such as climate change, poverty within and across nations; and peace and security in the world.<\/p>\n<p>The President will interact with youth from around 40 countries who will be attending the first NAM Youth Summit, taking place on the margins of the NAM Summit.<\/p>\n<p>During his visit, H.E. Muhammad-Bande will:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>meet with H.E. Ilham Aliyev, President of Azerbaijan and other senior government officials;<\/li>\n<li>Visit Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy (ADA) to commemorate Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Day on October 24<sup>th<\/sup> by delivering a keynote address; and<\/li>\n<li>Visit Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ projects that aim to empower women and promote the effective implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals, among others.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>H.E. Tijjani Muhammad-Bande will depart Azerbaijan on Sunday 26 October, 2019.<\/p>\n<p>The President will be accompanied by Senior Advisers Alex Tope and Abdelghani Merabet, his Special Assistant Muyiwa Waheed Onifade and Spokesperson Reem Abaza.<\/p>\n<p>Travel costs will be covered by the PGA\u2019s Trust Fund, while the government of Azerbaijan is providing accommodations.<br <\/em><\/strong>The President of the General Assembly, H.E. Tijjani Muhammad-Bande will travel to Baku, Azerbaijan on Tuesday 22 October 2019, to participate in the Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Non-aligned Movement (NAM).\u00a0<\/p><p>The President is expected to highlight the importance of multilateralism and the necessity of international cooperation to address critical challenges such as climate change, poverty within and across nations; and peace and security in the world.\u202f\u202f\u00a0\u00a0<\/p><p>The President will interact with youth from around 40 countries who will be attending the first NAM Youth Summit, taking place on the margins of the NAM Summit.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p><p>During his visit, H.E. Muhammad-Bande will:<\/p><ul><li>meet with H.E. Ilham Aliyev, President of Azerbaijan and other senior government officials;<\/li><li>Visit Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy (ADA) to commemorate Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Day on October 24<sup>th<\/sup> by delivering a keynote address; and<\/li><li>Visit Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ projects that aim to empower women and promote the effective implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals, among others.<\/li><\/ul><p>H.E.
