Orla Murphy is a Speechwriter and Adviser with responsibility for gender issues, including Beijing+25, in the Office of the President of the 74th<\/sup> Session of the General Assembly.<\/p>\n

Before joining the Office, Orla was an Adviser at the Permanent Mission of Ireland to the United Nations working on Education, Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Funds and Programmes, and Sustainable Development. Prior to this, Orla was the Policy and Programme Officer at Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵAIDS US Liaison Office, and Advocacy Officer at Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵICEF Ireland. Previously, Orla was the International Humanitarian Law Advocacy Officer at the Irish Red Cross.<\/p>\n

Orla was Ireland\u2019s first Youth Delegate to the United Nations, and a United Nations Alliance of Civilizations Fellow.<\/p>\n

She holds an Honours Bachelor\u2019s Degree in English and Politics, a postgraduate Bachelor of Laws, and a Master\u2019s in International Public Policy and Diplomacy from University College Cork.<\/p>\n
