United Nations Headquarters, New York, <\/strong>07 July 2020 \u2013\u00a0<\/span>The President of the United Nations General Assembly, Tijjani Muhammad-Bande, announced today that consensus has been achieved among Member States on the Declaration for the Commemoration of the seventy-fifth anniversary of the United Nations.<\/p>\n

The President circulated a letter to Member States declaring that the silence procedure for the final draft Declaration has concluded today at 3 p.m. without objections.<\/p>\n

The President of the General Assembly will transmit the final draft to his successor, the President of the seventy-fifth session of the General Assembly, to prepare the text for its adoption at the high-level meeting of the Assembly to commemorate the seventy-fifth anniversary of the United Nations, scheduled for 21 September 2020.<\/p>\n

Mr. Muhammad-Bande expressed his sincere appreciation to the co-facilitators for their leadership and tireless efforts in facilitating the consultations as well as to all delegations for their constructive engagement and converging efforts to achieve an excellent outcome document, in line with the mandate calling for a concise, substantive, forward-looking and unifying Declaration.<\/p>\n
