SPEAKERS NAMED FOR ¡®BEIJING+25¡¯ OPENING SEGMENT
- Regarding the high-level meeting on the twenty-fifth anniversary of the Fourth World Conference on Women ¨C or Beijing+25, the opening segment, on Thursday 1 October, will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
- It will feature statements by the President of the General Assembly, the Secretary-General, a representative of China as the host country of the Fourth World Conference on Women, the Executive Director of Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Women and the Executive Director of the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Population Fund.
- Other speakers will include the Chair of the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women, the Chair of the Working Group of the Human Rights Council on the issue of discrimination against women in law and in practice, and the Special rapporteur on violence against women, its causes and consequences.
- There will also be statements by South African actress and Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵHCR Goodwill Ambassador Nomzamo Mbatha; Ixchel Adolfo of Las Ni?as?Liberan, a Guatemalan organization led by indigenous girls and young women; and Sascha Gabizon of Germany, the Executive Director of Women Engage for a Common Future.?

SPEAKERS LIST FOR NUCLEAR WEAPONS MEETING TO BE SHARED TODAY
- The high-level plenary meeting to?commemorate and promote the International Day for the Total Elimination of Nuclear Weapons will be held on Friday 2 October.
- The speakers list will be circulated to Member States today. As soon as it is, it will also be posted on the President¡¯s web site ¨C in the ¡®letters¡¯ section.
