The President of the 75th session of the General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Volkan Bozkir, met today with H.E. Bruno Eduardo Rodr¨ªguez Parrilla, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cuba.
The President thanked Minister Rodr¨ªguez Parrilla of Cuba for his personal presence at the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ, despite COVID related limitations and concerns, which reflected Cuban commitment to multilateralism and most importantly to the United Nations.
In addition to an exchange of views on global pandemic recovery and the importance of multilateral action on vaccines for all, they discussed the upcoming General Assembly debate on 23 June 2021 under the agenda items on the ¡°Necessity of ending the economic, commercial and financial embargo imposed by the United States of America against Cuba¡±.
The President praised the role played by Cuba within the work of the General Assembly, both in general and during the 75th session in particular.
The meeting took place in the President¡¯s office at United Nations Headquarters in New York.
