He was given the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine.<\/li>\n<li>He applied online for his vaccine through the New York State Department of Health and waited in line to enter the Javits Center today. He was eligible because he lives in New York State and is over the age of 65.<\/li>\n<li>Following his vaccination, he said his priority remains to advance the fair and equitable distribution of vaccines around the world. And he encouraged everyone to get vaccinated when they can, adding that vaccines save lives.<\/li>\n<li>The President also said he appreciated those who worked tirelessly to create COVID-19 vaccines in record time. He added that, as he got his first dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, he fondly remembered the Turkish scientists, Dr. U\u011fur \u015eahin &amp; Dr. \u00d6zlem T\u00fcreci, who were the first to develop a COVID-19 vaccine.<\/li>\n<li>He said we all must do what we can to stop the spread of the pandemic. For his part, he will continue to advocate for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.un.org\/pga\/75\/vaccines4all\/\">#Vaccines4All<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><br \/>PRESIDENT BRIEFED BY CO-FACILITATORS OF HIV &amp; AIDS MEETING<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The President met in his office this morning with the Permanent Representatives of Australia and Namibia, who are the co-facilitators of the high-level meeting on HIV and AIDS.<\/li>\n<li>The ambassadors <a href=\"https:\/\/www.un.org\/pga\/75\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/100\/2021\/02\/PGA-letter-Silence-broken-HIV-AIDS.pdf\">briefed him on the negotiation process<\/a> for the modalities resolution and expected political declaration.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><br \/>COORDINATION MEETING BETWEEN TOP U.N. OFFICIALS TO BE HELD TOMORROW<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Looking ahead, there will be a regular coordination meeting tomorrow afternoon between the Presidents of the General Assembly and Security Council and the Secretary-General.<\/li>\n<li>And then, next week, on 11 February, there will be a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.un.org\/pga\/75\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/100\/2021\/02\/PGA-letter-to-MS-AHWG-on-GA-Rev.pdf\">general debate<\/a> of the Ad Hoc Working Group on Revitalization of the Work of the General Assembly.<\/li>\n<li>It will be presided over by the co-chairs of this group, namely the Permanent Representatives of El Salvador and Slovakia.<\/li>\n<li>Among other things, the group will look into addressing the challenges that COVID-19 has presented to the work of the General Assembly and its six main committees.
