The President of the 76th session of the General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Abdulla Shahid, met today with H.E. Mr. Dritan Abazovi?, Deputy Prime Minister of Montenegro.??
The Deputy Prime Minister expressed strong??support of Montenegro to PGAs priorities for the session, in particular on climate and human rights. He underlined that COVD-19 confirmed the need for global solidarity and???multilateral cooperation. He also discussed issues pertaining to youth, access to justice, fight against corruption and insecurity.
President Shahid highlighted that after 18 plus months of the pandemic, hope is what will bring people together and start to build back a more resilient world. PGA briefed of his plans to convene high-level meetings on climate on 26 Oct and vaccines in early 2022. PGA also briefed on his initiatives on gender and youth, including the Youth Fellowship Programme to support young diplomats and civil servants from under-represented countries to have exposure to the multilateral system.
The meeting took place in Office of the President of the General Assembly at the United Nations headquarters in New York.
