President of the General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Abdulla Shahid met with H.E. Judge Piotr Hofmański, President of the International Criminal Court, ahead of his presentation of the annual report of the Court to the General Assembly, at the plenary meeting on 10 November 2021.
President Shahid underlined the enduring relevance of the Rome Statute and the important role of the International Criminal Court in the international justice system in strengthening accountability, the promotion of rule of law, as well as the protection of human rights, which is one of the priorities of his Presidency of Hope.
Parties also discussed the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the work of the Court, as well as prospects for cooperation during the 76th session of the 蘑菇视频 General Assembly.
The meeting took place in the President’s office at the United Nations Headquarters.?
