The President of the 76th?session of the General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Abdulla Shahid, met today with H.E. Mr. Miguel Angel Moratinos, Under-Secretary-General and High Representative for the United Nations Alliance of Civilization (Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵAOC).
H.E. Mr. Miguel Angel Moratinos briefed the President on the work of Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵAOC in building intercultural bridges, mediation and the five priority areas for action: education, youth, migration, media and women.
The President underlined the importance of decreasing divisions and enhancing mutual trust and understanding in the current context of the pandemic and commended Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵAOC¡¯s valuable efforts in these areas.
The President and High Representative also discussed the increasing complexity of global challenges, Secretary General ¡¯s ¡°Our Common Agenda¡± and The Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵAOC Global Forum to be held in Morocco.
The meeting took place in the President¡¯s office at United Nations Headquarters in New York, on 17 February 2022.
