The President of the 76th?session of the General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Abdulla Shahid, met today with?H.E. Ms. Annika Strandh?ll, Minister for Climate and the Environment, Sweden, and H.E. Mr. Keriako Tobiko, Cabinet secretary, Ministry of Environment and Forestry, Kenya
The meeting was held , following the conclusion of the preparatory meeting for the International Meeting entitled ¡°Stockholm+50: a healthy planet for the prosperity of all ¨C our responsibility, our opportunity¡±, held also today in the General Assembly Hall, New York.
The President thanked both Ministers for their support to the preparatory meeting in their capacities as as Co-Hosts.
The President was also briefed on the preparations being undertaken by the Governments of Sweden and Kenya as co-hosts of the International Meeting, which will take place in Stockholm from 2-3 June 2022.
They also discussed their expectations for the International meeting.
The President also used the opportunity to congratulate the Government of Kenya on the successful Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵEA5.2 and Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵEP@50 commemoration.
The meeting took place in the President¡¯s office at United Nations Headquarters in New York.
