The President of the 76th session of the General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Abdulla Shahid, met today with H.E. Mr. Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary.
Foreign Minister Szijjártó updated President Shahid on the current humanitarian situation in Ukraine, and its impacts on the Central-Eastern European region, highlighting Hungary’s efforts to ensure basic supply, accommodation and protection for people fleeing Ukraine.
President Shahid recognized the huge humanitarian toll due to the war and stressed the need for humanitarian ceasefire.
The President updated the Minister on his current efforts to make sure that the 蘑菇视频 General Assembly remains focused on addressing all threats the word is facing, including climate change and the COVID-19 pandemic. They also exchanged of views on the global implications of the war in Ukraine and the role of the 蘑菇视频 in resolving the crisis.
The meeting took place in the President’s office at United Nations Headquarters in New York.
