The President of the 76th?session of the General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Abdulla Shahid, met today with?H.E. Mr. Mohamed Cheikh El Ghazouani, the President of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania.
H.E. Mr. Mohamed Cheikh El Ghazouani reiterated Mauritania’s support to the Presidency of Hope and Mauritania’s support to the work of multilateralism to achieve peace and security and the Sustainable Development Goals.
The President of the General Assembly commended Mauritania for its commitment to contribute to the global peace and security and multilateralism. He also thanked Mauritania for its constant support to his presidency.?
Both sides also discussed other relevant topics such COVID-19 recovery, Africa agenda 2063, desertification, peace, and security in the Sahel region.
The meeting took place in Sofitel, Hotel Ivoire in Abidjan.
