As part of his visit to Georgia, the President of the General Assembly during the seventy-sixth session, H.E. Mr. Abdulla Shahid met with H.E. Mr. Shalva Papuashvili, Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia.
President Shahid stressed the role of the Parliamentarians in the work of the General Assembly. He underlined his work in the area of increasing gender representation and gender parity and commended Georgia for achieving new strides in the area of gender equality, included as part of the Gender Equality Council.
Both leaders discussed Georgia’s implementation of SDGs, in particular SDG16. President Shahid separately visited Georgia’s Public Service Hall, showcasing Georgia’s progress in public administration, open governance and transparency and accountability of state institutions.
The meeting took place at the Parliament of Georgia, Tbilisi.
