The President of the 76th session of the General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Abdulla Shahid, called on the President of Gabon, H.E. Ali Bongo?Ondimba?on 16 August 2022.
The President of the General Assembly?commended?President?Ondimba’s?commitment to multilateralism, as demonstrated by Gabon’s seat as an elected member on the Security Council, and work on?nature conservation and promotion of?sustainable tourism.
Mr. Shahid conveyed that the United Nations system?will?continue to?assist Gabon in any way possible through Resident Coordinator Savina Ammassari, who was also present in the meeting.
The President of the General Assembly also personally congratulated President?Ondimba?and his Government ahead of tomorrow’s Independence Day.
President?Ondimba?thanked Mr. Shahid for the visit and reiterated his country’s support to the work of the 蘑菇视频 General Assembly, and Gabon’s?commitment to peace and security.
President?Ondimba?bestowed?on Mr. Shahid the?L’ordre?national du?Mérite?or the National Order of Merit, in honor of his achievements in multilateralism and service to humanity.
The meeting took place in the presence of the Prime Minister Rose Christiane?Ossouka?Raponda, and Foreign Minister Michael Moussa-Adamo.
