– As delivered –<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n 18 September 2021<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n Your Excellency, Mr. Vice President,<\/p>\n Mr. Secretary-General,<\/p>\n Excellencies,<\/p>\n Ladies and gentlemen,<\/p>\n It is a pleasure to address you today at the inauguration of the artwork, \u201cWorld in Progress II\u201d with the celebrated Swiss French artist, Saype .<\/p>\n As a world leader in both innovation and the arts, I wish to thank Switzerland for this kind invitation and for making this event possible.<\/p>\n From Istanbul to Paris, I understand that each city that Saype chooses has a \u201cmeaning.\u201d<\/p>\n What better home to welcome \u201cWorld in Progress II\u201d than here in the \u2018Parliament of Humanity\u2019.<\/p>\n Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ is not only the pinnacle of multilateral cooperation but is also known as a \u201cmini-museum\u201d of art and artistic treasures.<\/p>\n It is only fitting that a space for the entire global community to come together in mutual respect and dialogue would also celebrate the artistic contributions from across our world.<\/p>\n Ephemeral and sensational, accessible yet profound, Saype\u2019s artwork speaks of the powerful role of arts as a platform to promote change, bridge cultural divides, or transform societies.<\/p>\n His artwork reflects the zeitgeist of the moment.<\/p>\n It represents a narrative that inspires change, evokes hope, and calls for collaborative action.<\/p>\n Whether it is about climate action or refugee crises, the artwork conveys universal messages of both challenges and opportunities, of limitless potential and possibilities.<\/p>\n The artwork refreshes the virtue of multilateralism.<\/p>\n I appreciate that Saype\u2019s work is a nod to the Secretary-General\u2019s report \u201cOur Common Agenda\u201d, which embraces solidarity, renews social contracts, addresses \u201cinfodemics,\u201d promotes true economic growth, thinks long-term, and calls for a stronger, more networked, and inclusive multilateralism.<\/p>\n Just like the artwork, \u2018Our Common Agenda\u2019 reminds us of our obligations towards future generations.<\/p>\n As President of the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ General Assembly, I commit to working towards these obligations; I will work hard to bring together the best of humanity, to offer the best solutions, and to present a more hopeful, unifying message.<\/p>\n No doubt, today\u2019s event and Saype\u2019s impressive artwork contribute to this narrative, representing a United Nations that delivers for people, for planet, and for prosperity.<\/p>\n I thank you.<\/p>\n [\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][\/et_pb_section]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Remarks by H.E.
