Today, the President of the General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Abdulla Shahid, met with the CEO of World Humanitarian Forum (WHF),\u00a0Ms.\u00a0Feraye<\/span>\u00a0Ozfescioglu.<\/p>\n

Ms.\u00a0Ozfescioglu\u00a0congratulated the President on his election and expressed readiness of the World Humanitarian Forum to work with the Office of the PGA during the seventy-sixth session across the priorities identified in the Presidency of Hope.<\/p>\n

They further discussed issues that are prevalent in today\u2019s context, including climate change, COVID-19 recovery, youth empowerment, and gender equality.<\/p>\n

Both sides reiterated the importance of collective action and leveraging multilateralism to deliver on the aspirations of future generations.<\/p>\n

Ms.\u00a0Ozfescioglu\u00a0also invited the PGA to participate in an event focused on education of the girl child to be hosted in Glasgow. WHF plans to organize the event in the first week of November.<\/p>\n

The meeting took place in the President\u2019s office at United Nations Headquarters in New York.<\/p>\n
