The President of the 76th session of the General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Abdulla Shahid, met today with H.E. Ms Yoka Brandt, Permanent<\/em>\u00a0Representative of\u00a0<\/em>the Netherlands.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Ambassador Brandt thanked the President for his leadership, including on the General Assembly\u2019s consideration of the Secretary-General\u2019s report \u2018Our Common Agenda\u2019.\u00a0 They discussed issues confronting Small Island Developing States (SIDS), with Ambassador Brandt noting that the Kingdom of the Netherlands included three constituent countries in the Caribbean.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Other topics included climate change, gender, civil society engagement, vaccine equity and the\u00a0issue of feasibility of a HRC candidate pledging event to improve accountability and transparency.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

The meeting took place in the President\u2019s office at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n
