Mr. Abdulla Shahid, met today Mr. Khandker Anwarul Islam, Cabinet Secretary of Bangladesh.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in;text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif;color: #212121\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in;text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif;color: #212121\">The Secretary congratulated the PGA on his successful election and complimented him on ably guiding the membership in \u00a0addressing the many global challenges confronting the world, including the issue of vaccine inequality and climate change.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in;text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #212121\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in;text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif;color: #212121\">Mr. Islam briefed the PGA on the work being done by Bangladesh as part of the preparatory process for the country\u2019s graduation from the LDC group and sought PGA&#8217;s continued guidance for a smooth graduation process. He mentioned that Bangladesh continues to face several challenges in its journey to sustainable graduation once the LDC-related trade and export concessions and preferential treatment are withdrawn.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in;text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif;color: #212121\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in;text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif;color: #212121\">The PGA congratulated Bangladesh on its graduation. He mentioned that he clearly understands and foresees the \u00a0challenges from Maldive\u2019s own LDC graduation experience several years earlier.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in;text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif;color: #212121\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in;text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif;color: #212121\">The President concluded the meeting by assuring his commitment to addressing the issues faced by LDCs, including those graduating from LDCs, at every possible opportunity, including at the forthcoming LDC5 Conference in Doha, Qatar.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The President of the 76th Session of the General Assembly, H.E.
