Mr. Abdulla Shahid, met with H.E. Ambassador Gabriel Ferrero, the Chairperson of Committee on World Food Security earlier today.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in;text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif;color: #212121\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in;text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif;color: #212121\">Ambassador Ferrero stressed the importance of ensuring right to food and\u00a0nutrition\u00a0for everyone and pledged his continued and firm support to President Shahid\u2019s Presidency of Hope. The Chairperson also highlighted the focus of the Committee on accelerating global actions on achieving Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 2 &#8211; Zero Hunger.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in;text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #212121\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in;text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif;color: #212121\">The President commended the work of the Committee and mentioned that food security is linked to the achievement of many SDGs. He also discussed the importance of giving special attention to food security in countries in special situations &#8211; LDCs, LLDCs and SIDS, as well as the gender gap in food security.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in;text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #212121\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in;text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt;font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif;color: #212121\">The meeting took place in the office of the President of General Assembly, the United Nations Headquarters.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The President of the 76th session of the General Assembly, H.E.
