Mr. Abdulla Shahid, met today with the Assistant Secretary-General for Human Rights and Head of the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in New York, Ms. Ilze Brands Kehris.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Assistant Secretary General pledged her full support to the priorities of the Presidency of Hope, including on gender equality and youth participation, and expressed her appreciation for being invited to serve as member of the President\u2019s Advisory Board on Gender Equality.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>President Shahid reiterated his commitment to promote and advance the respect of human rights, which is part of the fourth Ray of Hope of his Presidency.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>They also discussed issues related to the importance of civil society\u2019s participation in the work of the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ, including in the field of human rights, PGA\u2019s Youth Fellowship Programme and the High-level meeting on \u201cGalvanizing Momentum for Universal Vaccination\u201d scheduled on 13 January 2022.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The meeting took place in the President\u2019s office at United Nations Headquarters in New York.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The President of the 76th Session of the General Assembly, H.E.
