H.E Abdulla Shahid, President of the 76th session of the General Assembly met today with the Kingdom of Bahrain’s Special Envoy for Climate Affairs and Chief Executive, Supreme Council for Environment, H.E Dr. Mohamed bin Mubarak bin Daina.<\/p>\n

President Abdulla Shahid briefed the Envoy on his priorities particularly the Ray of Hope on responding to the needs of the planet and highlighted the challenges faced by the Small Island States.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
H.E Dr. Mohamed Bin Mubarak Bin Daina reiterated the sentiments expressed by the President. He briefed the President on the proactive steps taken by Bahrain to fight climate change.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The President and Special Envoy for Climate agreed on the need to accelerate mitigation and adaptation measures on a global scale, and emphasized the need for multilateralism to effectively confront the climate crisis.<\/p>\n
