He was briefed on the national response \u2013 including vaccine distribution and the role that women front-liners play in the country.<\/p>\n<p>Bahrain has one of the highest vaccination rates, not just in the region, but around the world. This visit was an opportunity for President Shahid to see some of that himself and see what lessons could be learned.<\/p>\n<p>As you know, vaccine equity is a key focus of the visit, as it comes ahead of the high-level event that the President will convene on 25 February. And this is an issue that the President raised in his meetings.<\/p>\n<p>Among other activities today, the President had a working lunch with the Minister of Youth, and met with the Supreme Council for Women.<\/p>\n<p>President Shahid had the opportunity to meet with one of his predecessors.., the President of the 61st session of the General Assembly, Haya Rashed
