Great, then thank you very much to BCSS and Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Television colleagues for this new mic.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Inter-Parliamentary Union <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In the General Assembly today\u2026<\/p>\n<p>The President of the General Assembly and the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) are holding the 2022 Parliamentary Hearing.<\/p>\n<p>The theme is \u201cBuilding political support and inclusive responses to sustainable recovery\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>This is the largest in-person gathering at the United Nations since the September High-Level Week\u2026 and it\u2019s the first time that it is being held in the General Assembly Hall.<\/p>\n<p>Around 200 Members of Parliament, Speakers, advisers, and related officials from 65 Member States are taking part.<\/p>\n<p>President Abdulla Shahid told the opening this morning that \u201cParliaments are the platform through which Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ resolutions can be turned into national legislation. And national parliaments can be the mechanism through which local concerns can be conveyed to the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ and deliberated by the international community.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>After today\u2019s opening, President Shahid held a bilateral meeting with the IPU President, Mr. Duarte Pacheco.<\/p>\n<p>He is due to meet later today with Shakhwan Abdullah Ahmed, Deputy Speaker of Iraqi Council of Representatives.<\/p>\n<p>You have a press release on the Parliamentary Hearing in your inboxes.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵAOC<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Also today, President Shahid will meet with the High Representative of the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Alliance of Civilizations, Miguel Angel Moratinos.<\/p>\n<p>They will discuss issues related to the Presidency of Hope, and also the ongoing informal thematic consultations on the Our Common Agenda report.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>QUESTIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Spokesperson was asked about Tunisia\u2019s representation in the 2022 Parliamentary Hearing.
