The President of the 76th session of the General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Abdulla Shahid, met with H.E. Dr. Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and UAE Special Envoy for Climate Change.<\/p>\n
Minister Al Jaber commended the President on his leadership and advocacy role on addressing issues related to climate change.<\/p>\n
The Minister expressed UAE\u2019s continued support for the priorities of the PGA throughout the remainder of his presidency.<\/p>\n
The Minister also briefed the President on the preparations being undertaken by the UAE Government for COP28.\u00a0The President congratulated UAE for kickstarting the preparatory process for COP28. He also underscored the importance of working collectively to realise the promises of the Paris Agreement..<\/p>\n
President Shahid expressed his gratitude for the Minister\u2019s unwavering support and congratulated the UAE for hosting a successful Expo 2020 which will end in March 2022.<\/p>\n
The meeting took place in the office of the President of the General Assembly in New York.<\/p>\n
