The President of the 76th<\/sup>\u00a0Session of the General Assembly H.E. Abdulla Shahid met today with Assistant Secretary General and Executive Director of the\u00a0United Nations\u00a0Institute for Training and Research, Mr. Nikhil Seth.<\/p>\n

President Shahid\u00a0thanked Mr. Seth and his Team for\u00a0the excellent cooperation between OPGA and Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵITAR in launching the\u00a0Fellowship for Hope program and stressed the need for the institutionalization of this initiative to enable young diplomats from underrepresented countries to continue to benefit from the Fellowship.<\/p>\n

Both sides also exchanged views on equipping young diplomats with the relevant tools to help them handle futuristic issues. In this context, Executive Director, Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵITAR mentioned their increased focus on training capsules on science and technology.<\/p>\n

The meeting took place in the President\u2019s office at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.<\/p>\n
