Mr. Ant\u00f3nio Vitorino, Director-General of the International Organization for Migration and Coordinator of the U.N. Network on Migration to discuss the inaugural International Migration Review Forum, which takes place\u00a0<span dir=\"ltr\">from 17 \u2013 18 May<\/span>, preceded by the\u00a0<span lang=\"en-GB\">informal interactive multi-stakeholder hearing<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The President and the Director General\u00a0agreed\u00a0that the IMRF constitutes a historic opportunity to bring together\u00a0Member States, the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ system, and relevant stakeholders\u00a0around the issue of migration, to\u00a0share successes and areas for further progress relating to implementing the Global Compact for Safe Orderly and Regular Migration and, more generally, fostering stronger international cooperation on migration governance.<\/p>\n<p>The President thanked the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Network on Migration for the support extended to the Office of the President of the General Assembly in coordinating the IMRF.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting took place at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.<\/p>\n<p>17 May 2022<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0 The President of the 76th session of the General Assembly, H.E.
