Mr. Abdulla Shahid, today met H.E. Ambassador Gabriel Ferrero, the Chairperson of the Committee on World Food Security.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in;background: white\"><span style=\"color: #212121\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in;background: white\"><span style=\"color: #212121\">The Chairperson expressed his gratitude to the President for his support to the work of the Committee on World Food Security and stressed the urgent need for the international community to take actions to curb food prices, promote food trade and provide humanitarian food assistance to the people in need.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in;background: white\"><span style=\"color: #212121\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in;background: white\"><span style=\"color: #212121\">The President commended the efforts of the Committee and shared his concerns about the rising food prices and the impact, especially on developing countries. He urged the international community to focus on the needs of the most vulnerable countries, including LDCs, LLDCs and SIDS. He pledged his continued support for the Chairperson\u2019s efforts to galvanize global strength to address ongoing challenges.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in;background: white\"><span style=\"color: #212121\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in;text-align: justify;background: white\"><span style=\"color: #212121\">The meeting took place in the President\u2019s office at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in;text-align: justify;background: white\"><span style=\"color: #212121\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in;text-align: justify;background: white\"><span style=\"color: #212121\">7 June 2022<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The President of the 76th session of the General Assembly, H.E.
