Mr. Abdulla Shahid, met today with\u00a0the Members of the Special Committee to Investigate Israeli Practices Affecting the Human Rights of the Palestinian People and Other Arabs of the Occupied Territories.<\/p>\n<p>The Chair of the Special Committee, H.E.\u00a0Mr. Peter Mohan Maithri Pieris, Permanent Representative of Sri Lanka, briefed the President on\u00a0the activities of the Special Committee, including the upcoming visit to Jordan in July.<\/p>\n<p>The President expressed his concern over the lack of\u00a0tangible progress in the resolution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and reiterated that a two-state solution, as per Resolution 181 remained the only premise for a just, lasting and comprehensive between Israelis and Palestinians. He expressed his support to ensure the success of the Committee\u2019s work.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting took place in the President\u2019s office at United Nations Headquarters in New York.<\/p>\n<p>9 June 2022.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The President of the 76th session of the General Assembly, H.E.
