The President of the 76th session of the General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Abdulla Shahid, met today with H.E. Ms. Sahiba Gafarova, Chairperson of Milli Majlis (Parliament) of the Republic of Azerbaijan.<\/p>\n
President Shahid expressed his gratitude to the Chairperson for the support of Azerbaijan to his Presidency of Hope and outlined his priorities for the 76th<\/sup>\u00a0session. He also congratulated the Government of Azerbaijan for its work at the United Nations, and in its capacity as the Chair of the Non-Aligned Movement.<\/p>\n The conversation focused on the role of parliamentarians in global multilateralism, international and regional issues, the importance of the participation of women in decision making, and gender equality.
